Sculptures at the Ambleside Parish Centre

The sculptures on the exterior of the Ambleside Parish Centre are the work of the artist Mr Danny Clahane and were designed as an integral part of the building.  The friezes on the two drums depict, on one side, the four seasons and, on the other side, the four elements and each panel has the repeating motif of two outstretched hands, the symbol of  the Parish Centre. The block on the low wall in front of the centre, also in Portland stone, has the motif of the hands framing a tree.  A second frieze over the entrance door and windows is an abstract pattern of foliage.

The four wood carvings in the interior also depict the four elements and are the work of Mr Trevor Singleton.
